About Goodwill Hunters

Goodwill Hunters is a volunteer-driven charitable organization dedicated to supporting local causes, community initiatives, and neighbors in need through fundraising, volunteer service, and community engagement.

Goodwill Hunters Looks Toward Its Next Chapter

For the past decade, the Duck Derby at Rexhame Beach in Marshfield has been the signature fundraiser for Goodwill Hunters. Over the years, the event has grown into a cherished community tradition, bringing together friends, families, and neighbors for a day of fun while raising funds to support local nonprofits. Through their programs and services, these organizations strengthen our community and enhance the quality of life for residents of all ages.

After thoughtful consideration and planning, Goodwill Hunters has decided to retire the Duck Derby as a fundraising event. This decision reflects the organization's commitment to exploring new opportunities for fundraising, volunteer engagement, and community impact while continuing its longstanding mission of service.

"The Duck Derby has been an incredible success and a source of pride for our organization," said Gail Hunter, President of Goodwill Hunters. "We are deeply grateful to the volunteers, sponsors, participants, and supporters who have made it possible over the years. Because of their generosity, Goodwill Hunters has been able to make a meaningful difference throughout the South Shore."

While the Derby will not take place, Goodwill Hunters remains active and dedicated to supporting local causes, promoting volunteerism, and strengthening the community.

Over the coming months, members will be evaluating new initiatives and opportunities that build upon the organization's history of service while positioning it for future growth and impact.

"Our mission remains unchanged," said Kim Arouca, Vice President of Goodwill Hunters. "Since 2009, our co-founder Board of Directors has remained actively engaged in guiding the organization. We are proud of the impact made possible through the Duck Derby and look forward to building on that success as we continue to serve our community in new and meaningful ways."

Additional updates will be shared as plans are finalized.
